THE GOOD JOINT PATIENT GUIDE

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Your first visit, product basics, and what to expect—explained in plain language.

Your first visit

Understand registration before you come through.

Do I need a medical cannabis registration?

Yes. Bring your valid patient registration or digital credential and government-issued photo ID. Adults 21 and older can self-certify through DC’s medical cannabis program. You can also self-certify in store at The Good Joint with help from our team. Bring a government-issued photo ID. Our website serves adults 21+.

How do DC residents register?

Open ABCA’s customer portal, create an account if you need a new registration, and complete the DC resident application. Adults 21+ may self-certify. Review ABCA’s current document requirements before starting.

If your registration is still valid, ABCA says to keep using it and use the new portal when it is time to renew.

Can out-of-state and international visitors register?

Visitors 21+ can apply through ABCA’s non-DC resident registration process. Have your government-issued photo ID ready, and check the portal for current fees and registration periods.

If you already have a medical registration from another U.S. jurisdiction, check ABCA’s reciprocity list before applying for a new DC registration.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring government-issued photo ID and your valid medical patient credential, including a digital registration. Complete registration before pickup. Have your order confirmation ready if you ordered online.

What does registration cost?

Fees depend on residency and registration options. Check ABCA’s current fee information in the portal before applying; a store discount does not change government registration fees.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

THC is a cannabis compound that can cause intoxication and impairment. CBD by itself does not cause a high. A product containing CBD may also contain THC, so check the full label. Neither term means a product is risk-free.

What product formats can I find here?

Browse our live menu for current flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vapes, tinctures, and topicals. Availability changes; a category picture does not mean every item is in stock.

See current availability ↗
What do percentages and milligrams mean?

A percentage describes concentration. Milligrams (mg) describe an amount. Check whether an amount applies to one serving or the whole package, and look for both THC and CBD information. These numbers alone do not predict your personal response.

Ask our team to explain the manufacturer’s label. For personal dosing advice, speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

Will everyone respond to the same product the same way?

No. Responses can vary with the product, your health, prior experience, and other substances or medications. A product name or category is not a guarantee of an effect or medical benefit.
